Robert’s expertise in taxation, audit, business structures and superannuation means he takes a keen interest in all aspects of the firm and its clients.  He provides our staff with strong professional guidance as well as managing the day to day operations of the firm.

Robert's strength as an advisor is his ability to define complex accounting and tax matters and provide clients with practical, well thought outcomes. His unbridled enthusiasm, optimism and excellent communication has resulted in him being a mentor to numerous business clients and professionals within the firm. He is widely respected within the business community. His optimism and tenacity has also resulted in a number of positive outcomes for clients in dealings with statutory authorities.

Robert was instrumental in establishing the structures and financial reporting systems that have been utilised by McDonalds franchisees for the past 40 years. In fact, Robert was the first business advisor approached to act on behalf of McDonalds franchisees and the firm continues to this day to service these clients. Robert was also instrumental in establishing the school education audit and advisory sector within the practice, and has been actively involved in this for the past 25 years. In addition, Robert has advised a number of clients in relation to property transactions and developments.

Robert formed the partnership Summers Bradfield & Co in 1975, which then became Bradfield Martin & Co now Bradfield Partners. Prior to the formation of the practice, Robert’s business advisory and audit experience was gained with Bowie Wilson Miles & Co (now PKF), Price Waterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and Arthur Young (now Ernst and Young). During his career he has also served as financial controller of J B Dixon & Co, Stockbrokers and director and treasurer of SCEGGS Darlinghurst. Robert has also served as a director and company secretary for a listed public company.
